Fleksy, the revolutionary keyboard that has been making waves since first revealed has now garnered the attention of investors on both ends of the US.
Making its first appearance on the iPhone, Fleksy is a unique keyboard technology designed for touch-screen devices. The technology is so powerful, that users can now type on a touch-screen without even looking at the screen. Fleksy has attracted significant market and press commentary since a preview of the technology hit the App Store this summer.
Today Syntellia, the company behind Fleksy, is proud to announce the closing of its seed funding round to the amount of $900,000 USD. Participating on the financing are angel and VC investors from the San Francisco Bay Area, and a number of investors from the East Coast where the company recently ranked among the top at the Distilled Intelligence pitch event. The cross coast attention ramped up and brought even more high profile investors, causing the company to over-subscribe its initial seed funding round.
“We are thrilled to have such a strong and high profile group of investors on board Syntellia” said COO and co-founder Ioannis Verdelis, an engineer and business development entrepreneur with great experience in scaling and creating industry leaders.
Syntellia’s investor panel includes Thanos Triant (investor in Seagate, Postini), Edith Yeung (Right Ventures, Dolphin Browser), John Schappert (former COO of Zynga), Fortify.VC, amongst others.
The financing will be used to accelerate sales and strategic partnerships and provide resources for cross platform development.
“We are now excited to get our technology on as many devices as possible and improve the way people type across all platforms” said CEO and co-founder Kostas Eleftheriou commenting on the company’s plans to become an integral part of the next generation of smartphones and tablets. “We are already working on our first integrations and will soon be reaching out to millions of users”. Kostas is an engineer and entrepreneur with multiple successful exits in the tech world.
While Fleksy originally targeted the visually impaired market, Syntellia confirmed they are now planning to revolutionize typing for every user.
